According to a recent release by the West Coast MTO Agreement (WCMTOA), the Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will rise by 2.3%, effective August 1, 2017. The level of increase matches the combined hikes in longshore wages and assessment rates, which took effect on July 1. The TMF will continue to be applied only to containers moved from 3AM through 6PM PST on weekdays. Containers moving during OffPeak shifts (6PM through 3AM on weekdays, 8AM through 5PM on Saturdays) are exempt from the charge.
Effective August 1, the TMF will increase to:
· USD 72.09 per TEU
· USD 144.18 per FEU
