According to multiple media venues, carrier-members of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) have released a statement recommending a general rate increase (GRI) on all Asia-to-USA trade lanes, effective August 1, 2014. The proposed GRI amounts to USD 600 per 40' container. According to the notice, the GRI is "part of an ongoing revenue improvement program aimed at enabling carrier reinvestment in the transpacific trade lane to ensure adequate service levels as demand increases."
SPARX logistics will closely monitor this situation with our contracted carriers. Should a GRI become inevitable, we are committed to mitigating the increase as much as possible on behalf of our customers.
