According to a joint release by the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA), negotiations over a new U.S. West Coast labor contract will resume on Wednesday, July 23 after a two-day hiatus. The break in talks was scheduled to allow the ILWU to convene its previously scheduled Longshore Division Caucus. The statement went on to note that negotiations will also be suspended from Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1, in order for the ILWU to pursue unrelated contract negotiations in the Pacific Northwest.
